Thanksgiving 2012

All-in-all it was a good day.  Everyone was tired out by the end of the evening but that's a good thing :)

Nancy H and I woke the boys around 8:30 so that we could get them a little bit awake and get Colin's vest and coughing done so that we could make it to the living room for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to start at 9:00.  We made it!

Colin enjoyed it more than Mr. Big Stuff.  Casey ended up having his ipad on some football so he could keep an eye and an ear on both.  He liked the Rockettes, Carly Rae Jepsen and Sponge Bob the best.  Colin loved most everything, and especially liked the Peanuts gang and HoHo (Santa).

Boys got dressed.  Nancy left.  Hung around.

Aunt Chris came.  Around 4:30 or so RJ and Tiffany came with Grandma andGrandpa O.  Tyler showed up fashionably late :)

Had some hor d'oeurves: cheese and crackers, onion dip and chips, and my deviled eggs.

Chatted.  Although Casey was being very unsociable.  I guess it comes with the territory of being a teenager, sigh.  He just wanted to stay in the yellow room and watch football, click channels and chat with AC on his DynaVox.

Gene and I did all the last minute stuff.  Putting in the casseroles, mashing the potatoes, etc.  Everything came out really well--I think it was one of our best tasting meals yet!

The menu:

Turkey, gravy, stuffing
cranberry sauce
cranberry nut bread
dinner rolls
green bean casserole
swiss corn bake
mashed squash
mashed potatoes

And then for desert:

pumpkin cheese cake
apple crumb pie and vanilla ice-cream
cupcakes

We all hung out some more, did some Skyping with Peggy.

RJ played some wii with the boys.

Everyone went home.

Clean up (not everything--too tired!)

Got the boys ready for bed.  Gene read them their Captain Underpants book.  Sleep.  Night nurse came.

I wasn't a very prolific or creative photographer but here are a few pics.
