This afternoon I was alone with Casey (Staci had left already) and Gene was "at the plant." Casey and I were just hanging out and boom, boom, boom, concurrent with 3 flashes of light and the power went out. There went Judge Judy!!!
Called Gene and he had no clue. We were getting some weird heat lightning but not real close and no rain. He figured it was a transformer.
He made it home and called the outage into the power company.
We decided that there wasn't much to do at home, and it was hot, and we had hoped to go see Jamie Lee Thurston in Jeffersonville, but he was getting home so late I wasn't planning on it...But we decided to go for it. We quickly got Casey ready and the batteries changed out on his vent, etc, loaded up and we were off! It's a pretty ride out there. Hadn't been out there in a long time.
(we saw the electric company truck so Gene drove over to talk with them. They said it was the transformer on the pole by our blueberry and raspberry bushes. They were pretty confident it would be repaired quickly)

It was pretty busy and the parking lot was packed but we found a decent spot. We bumped our way to the venue. The music was set up closest to the parking lot and the farmer's market was on the far side.
Right away Denise Sheraton (Jamie's biggest fan and our friend Asher's great grandma) found us and ushered us to a spot near the front, on the side, right by the merch tent. It was an acoustic show. He did his regulars and a few covers and sounded great. He was funny and personable.
We weren't going to stay after but since we didn't even know if we'd have electricity, we decided to wait to talk with him and snap a pic. It was pleasant weather so it wasn't bad hanging out for a bit.
Typical Casey pic. I don't even stress anymore if he has his eyes closed, haha.
We got home and the power was on!
